Winchcombe Town Council and Sudeley Parish Meeting submitted a joint Neighbourhood Development Plan, in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended), to Tewkesbury Borough Council on the 4th November 2015.
From the 4th December 2015 to the 22nd January 2016 the plan was consulted on, in accordance with Regulation 16, as a 'Plan Proposal'.
Following the close of the six week consultation period on the 22nd January 2016 the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Development Plan was subject to Independent Examination in accordance with Regulation 17.
Mr. Nigel McGurk was appointed as the independent examiner of the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Development Plan.The Examination concluded on the 20th May 2016 with the submission of the Examiner's Report
At Referendum, on Thursday 24th November 2016, the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Development Plan secured the majority of those voting for Tewkesbury Borough Council to use the plan to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area. With a 22.49% turnout and 87.02% voting yes.
Making the plan
Following an Independent Examination and Referendum, Tewkesbury Borough Council resolved to bring the Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Plan into legal force under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) at a meeting of Full Council on Tuesday 24th January 2017.
The Winchcombe and Sudeley Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the statutory Development Plan for Tewkesbury Borough Council.
