Tewkesbury Borough Council is inviting residents and visitors to come and try out the newly installed equipment at the Vineyards play area.
The project began back in early spring when the council consulted with the public on what they would like to see should the area be updated. The response was fantastic and the community provided lots of quality feedback which fed into the design. £75,000 was secured for the initiative and following the selection of a suitable contractor, work commenced just after the end of the summer holidays.
Cllr Kay Berry, Community Portfolio Lead said “I am absolutely delighted that the newly refurbished play facilities at the Vineyards are to be re-opened. Areas such as this are a valuable community asset, not only as a place to meet and chat but as a place to enjoy the fresh air and the outdoor activities.”
Kevin Cromwell and Julie Greening, Councillors for Tewkesbury Priors Park, jointly stated “The Vineyards has always been a much loved, well used play area and we hope that the refurbishment ensures that this remains the case for many years to come. We believe that the works will enhance the area for the long term benefit of the community”
The site will officially re-open to the public on Tuesday 24 October 2017.
