Following a bid to the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund, Tewkesbury Borough Council has been awarded £8.1 million to help improve transport links to Tewkesbury Ashchurch Housing Zone (north of the MoD site).

Leader of Tewkesbury Borough Council, Councillor David Waters, said: “Whilst continuing to lobby for improvements to Junction 9 of the M5 and the A46, the council will use the funding to make improvements to other parts of Ashchurch’s transport infrastructure, unlocking development potential and addressing the area’s housing shortfall.

“We now look forward to working with the Government, with stakeholders and with other partners to develop the scheme further.”
