This Saturday 28 October 2017, Tewkesbury's town centre will come alive with an array of delicious food and craft stalls. Located on Tewkesbury High Street from 9am to 5pm, there is set to be lots of mouth-watering treats on offer to try and buy.
Organised by Cotswolds Market Ltd, the event will boast over 70 stallholders, from award-winning cheese, wine and cider makers, bakers and farmers, to local artists and crafts people, who will also be on hand to showcase their work.
Dave Joynes of Cotswold Markets Ltd said: "These events represent an excellent opportunity to promote the town and we are looking forward to seeing the high street buzzing with producers and visitors to Tewkesbury.
We have also been working with the Tewkesbury Town traders group to make the most of the market and what the town has to offer, measures suggested by the group have been put in place that will hopefully benefit businesses, residents and visitors to the market. These measures include increased publicity, improvements to traffic management and improved signage”.
Traders in Church Street and Barton Street are also taking a free stand at the event to signpost and promote what’s on offer in these areas of the town.
While in town, visitors can make a day of it and enjoy a spot of retail therapy in the High Street, visit one of the many town centre attractions or take a break in one of the town's eateries, coffee houses or tea shops.
Nigel Dawson at Café au Chocolat said, 'Tewkesbury retailers are delighted to support the High St Market this week. It is a great event which creates a real community feel in the town centre. Visitors can browse amongst the stalls or visit the many fantastic shops to be found off the High Street, Barton Street and Church Street.'
During the market event, Tewkesbury High Street will be closed to traffic between the Church Street and Quay Street junctions. This closure will be from midnight on Friday 27 October to midnight on Saturday 28 October and local diversions will be put in place along Oldbury Road.
