Members of the public are invited to join Tewkesbury Borough Council’s members and staff to observe the Remembrance Day’s national two minute silence.
The service will take place on Friday, 10 November at the council’s offices on Gloucester Road and will start at 10.57am.
A short ceremony will be led by Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough, Cllr Harry Turbyfield, accompanied by the lowering of the poppy flag, giving all members, staff and visitors the opportunity to make a personal silent tribute if they so wish.
A bugler will play ‘The last post’ before the two minute silence at 11am.
Following the two minutes silence, the Reverend Wendy Ruffle will say a short prayer of remembrance.
Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough, Cllr Harry Turbyfield said: “It is important that we pay our respects, and this service will give us all an opportunity to remember those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. I hope members of the public will come along and join us in this act of remembrance.”
