Tewkesbury Borough Council has been awarded by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) for being the first council in the country to host a Growth Hub space within its offices.
The Local Authority Awards, the first of their kind, invited councils from Gloucestershire and the West of England to submit nominations that showcased the work they do to help SMEs.
Tewkesbury Borough Council was highly commended in the ‘Most Innovative Small Business Campaign’ category, for being the first council in the country to host a Growth Hub space within its offices. The Growth Hub – which is now open for business – is an exciting new space where Tewkesbury Borough business community can work, meet and get access to important and extensive resources in a supportive environment. It is the first of its kind to be located within an existing public services building, meaning business can access the huge range of services already located there.
Tewkesbury Borough Council’s leader, Councillor Rob Bird, said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in our borough, and even better, to have been commended for it within a week of opening our Growth Hub. Well done to all of those involved. It is certainly something to be proud of.”
