Over 100 local business owners and representatives came to the 'Tewkesbury Means Business' event at Tewkesbury Park Hotel on Thursday 10th May.
Organised by Tewkesbury Borough Council in partnership with Business West and GFirst LEP, businesses were able to network and learn more about plans to support business growth in Tewkesbury Borough, in particular the launch of the new Growth Hub at Tewkesbury's Public Services Centre in June.
Leader of Tewkesbury Borough Council, Councillor Rob Bird, said: "The new Growth Hub is a major part of our economic development strategy, committed to providing practical support to all businesses, small and large, to help them thrive. This is the first in the UK to be located in council offices, and we intend this to be our focal point for business support.
The event really buzzed, and it was great to have so many representatives of local businesses meeting together with a common purpose. I'd like to thank all those who attended for contributing to our discussions, and our partners who helped it happen."
Presentations on the day provided attendees with
- detailed information about the new Growth Hub and the support it can provide to all businesses
- how the apprenticeship programme is working in Gloucestershire, focusing on local company Clarkson Evans as a case study
- Tewkesbury Borough Council's wider plans to support business growth and drive prosperity for all across the Borough.
