Tewkesbury Borough Council is making it easier for companies and service providers to bid for its contracts.
The council is now using a new online system, in-tend, which allows suppliers to pre-register their interest in future and current contracts, as well as alert them to new opportunities.
The new system will provide firms of all sizes with a range of opportunities - around £4m is spent on goods, services and other works each year - but, importantly, it will also help the council get the best value for tax payers and ensure it purchases goods and services in line with legal requirements and government guidance.
Councillor Robert Vines, lead member for finance and asset management, said: “Moving our procurement service online will help external suppliers navigate easily through a complex process. It also means we can continue to run a competitive way of tendering so that we can achieve the very best value for money for Tewkesbury Borough’s council tax payers. I would encourage businesses to register as soon as possible so as not to miss out on any opportunities.”
Registering is quick, easy, and free of charge.
