Tewkesbury Borough Council will commemorate Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 24 June with a special flag raising ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at the council’s offices on Gloucester Road at 10am on Monday 19 June.
It will be led by the Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough Cllr Harry Turbyfield, who will be joined by veterans, council staff and councillors.
The mayor will make a short tribute to those who have served in the Armed Forces, and he will then raise the flag, which will remain flying until after Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 24 June.
Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough Cllr Harry Turbyfield said: “I feel honoured to pay tribute to the brave men and women in the forces. It provides us all with the opportunity to show our gratitude for the sacrifices they make and our admiration for the hard work and commitment they demonstrate every day in order to keep us safe”.
