Tewkesbury Borough Council’s housing and homelessness team has recently been subject to a peer review by officers from other local authorities to consider how well it is delivering services to some of the most vulnerable members of our society i.e. those who are at risk of being homeless.
The latest Sport England’s ‘Active Lives survey’ 20115/16 sees Tewkesbury recognised as the most active borough in Gloucestershire, with 72.6% of adults surveyed taking part in 150+ minutes of activity per week. The district also compared favourably against both the south west and national statistics
On Monday 15 May, Tewkesbury Borough Council successfully prosecuted landlord, Anwar Hussain for failing to comply with the terms of a prohibition order. Mr Hussain pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined £2000. He was also ordered to pay the council’s costs of over £1100 and a victim surcharge of £170.
