Tewkesbury Borough is one of the fastest growing districts in the country. We are one of a handful of locations in the UK to have been awarded Garden Town status by the Government for our ambitious development plans at Tewkesbury and its surrounding areas.
We’re proud of Tewkesbury and we want future generations to be proud of it too. So, we want our Garden Town to deliver high quality, sustainable, well-designed communities which are vibrant and economically successful. In short, we want Tewkesbury to be a fantastic place to live, work and grow a business.
Delivering this ambition will be a real challenge. We aim to create 10,000 new homes and business parks covering 100 hectares, with associated community hubs, green space and all important infrastructure. We want new developments to integrate well with our existing town and its communities. A whole-town approach is needed to make sure that we provide homes and jobs for families, creating fantastic opportunities for future generations.
We are looking for someone to head up our new Garden Town team and deliver this exciting and ambitious programme. For the council, the Garden Town programme is a high priority. As programme director, reporting directly to our chief executive, you will need to work with all sections of our communities, the council’s partners, Government departments and agencies, businesses and the development industry.
• Have extensive programme management and leadership experience in a political environment
• Have successfully delivered projects, overcoming obstacles along the way
• Excel at creating and sustaining partnerships
• Are tenacious, resilient and a great communicator with the drive and ambition that matches ours
• Can get things done
…we’d love to hear from you!
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Mike Dawson, Chief Executive, on 01684 272001.
