The Environmental Health Team is a busy, multi-disciplinary team which covers traditional environmental health areas such as food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, and housing. The Council’s licensing function is also included in the Teams remit.
Due to an internal service review a number of exciting opportunities have arisen within the Council’s Environmental Health Team.
Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a can do attitude? If so, then this role, working in a dynamic and fast paced environment could be for you.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of service areas, including food safety, health and safety, housing and environmental protection. The ideal candidates will be expected to hit the ground running and a recent, proven track record in more than one environmental health specialism, would be an advantage. Equally important however, is a positive attitude, versatility, good problem solving skills and a willingness to undertake further training and professional development as required.
The job will involve:
Carrying out a range of audits and inspections of businesses and private sector housing.
Investigation of breaches of regulations, carrying out interviews under caution and preparing case files for submission to court.
Liaising directly with Local Businesses and Communities, providing them with support and guidance.
Provide support and guidance to the Community and Business Liaison Assistants.
For an informal discussion please contact Gordon Buchanan, Environmental Health Manager, on 01684 272117 or Alastair Low, Principal Environmental Health Officer, on 01684 272175.
Closing date: Thursday, 15 November 2018
Proposed interview date: w/c Monday, 26 November 2018 or w/c Monday, 3 December 2018
