Gloucester City Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council are embarking on new ways of working, creating a planning partnership around the management of their development management services.
Gloucester is embarking on an extensive investment and regeneration programme, creating a
thriving and dynamic city with new jobs, homes and leisure.
Tewkesbury is embracing an ambitious growth strategy, planning for significant growth to 2031 and
beyond. In the heart of the M5 growth zone, with a wealth of attractive towns and villages
surrounded by the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Tewkesbury is clearly a council
that punches above its weight. It’s an exciting time for both councils and we’re looking for someone
with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to join us.
Through a detailed joint review, both Councils are aware that to truly transform their planning
service and maintain excellent standards of delivery, a traditional approach to management just
won't cut it. We've created a dedicated business and transformation manager position, that reflects
our commitment to instil a commercial approach to service delivery, where continuous improvement,
innovation and excellent performance are paramount. Working closely with a Technical Specialist
Manager, we're keen to hear from planning and non-planning professionals alike, it's your business
acumen and ability to deliver results that we're most interested in.
This is your opportunity to play a key part in the future of Gloucester and Tewkesbury, if you've got
an excellent track record of delivering service transformation and business improvement, within
either the public or private sector, we'd love to hear from you.
The post will be employed by Gloucester City Council with the post holder spending equal time in
both authority areas.
